Welcome to the Richmond County School System

We are excited your child will be attending the Richmond County School System. Our school system has an easy-to-use, secure online registration system that will allow you to complete many of the forms required for registering your child. The person registering must be a parent or legal guardian. Once you complete the online registration portion, you will need to go to your zoned school to provide additional documentation* (see below) to complete the enrollment of your child in a Richmond County school.

  • How old must students be to enroll in Georgia Schools?

    Posted by:

Georgia Law requires that children must be five years old on or before September 1 to enroll in Kindergarten and six years old on or before September 1 to enroll in first grade in public schools. A child who has lived in another state for at least a two years before moving to Georgia, and was legally enrolled in a public kindergarten or first grade in that state, may enroll in a Georgia public school kindergarten or first grade, provided the child will be five for kindergarten and six for first grade by December 31. Limited seats are available at various locations in Pre-Kindergarten programs for preschoolers who participate in the annual Georgia PreK Lottery. To qualify for PreK, children must be four (4) years old by September 1.
