Welcome to the Richmond County School System!

We are excited your child will be attending the Richmond County School System. Our school system has an easy, secure, online system for parents and legal guardians to register your child.

Kindergarten Registration

Georgia law requires that children must be five years old on or before September 1 to enroll in kindergarten and six years old on or before September 1 to enroll in first grade in public schools. A child who has lived in another state for at least two years before moving to Georgia, and was legally enrolled in a public kindergarten or first grade in that state, may enroll in a Georgia public school kindergarten or first grade, provided the child will be five for kindergarten and six for first grade by December 31. Parents may also complete the online registration first. 

Pre-K Registration

Limited seats are available at various locations in our pre-kindergarten program for preschoolers who participate in the annual Pre-K lottery. To qualify for Pre-K, children must be four (4) years old on or by September 1 and reside in Georgia. Please check the Pre-K registration page for all updates.

Students new to Richmond County Schools, including transfers from in-state and out-of-state schools, should complete the online registration first. If you would prefer to register in-person, you can find the school that you are zoned for and make an appointment

To register your child, please complete all the pages in the online registration application. 

• Print, copy or write down the Application or Confirmation number.  

The following documents will need to be submitted to your child’s school after the online registration is completed.

• Latest copy of student's report card or withdrawal form from previous school (if applicable)
• Legal guardian's photo ID
• Social Security Card
• Proof of Residency (Provide a current utility bill and one item from the list below)
• Current Lease/rental agreement
• Current home purchase agreement
• Most recent income tax return
• Current paycheck stub
• Current Medicaid card
• Current residential property tax statement or bill
• Current warranty or quick claim deed
• Current homeowner’s insurance policy 
• Driver's license
• Official Copy of Birth Certificate 
• Completed Eye, Ear, and Dental Form** 
• Completed Immunization Form**
• Rising 11th Graders - New MCV4 Vaccination Requirement
• Home Language Survey 
• Parent Occupational Survey

**The Eye, Ear, and Dental Form and the Immunization Form may be obtained from any Georgia Health Department, Eisenhower Medical Center at Fort Gordon, or any Georgia pediatrician's office or clinic. 

Students currently attending a Richmond County school that would like to transfer to another Richmond County school. 

The following documents will need to be submitted to your child’s school after the online registration is completed.

• Latest copy of student's report card or withdrawal form

If the student's family is residing in the home or apartment of another individual, not due to economic reasons and/or undue hardships, the person with whom the family is living and whose name matches the proof of residence must present these documents for enrollment:

• Notarized third-person affidavit of residency
• Photo ID of person with whom the family is residing
• Proof of Residency matching the name and address of person with whom the family is residing
• Inclusion of person with whom the family is residing as a contact on the registration form
