Printing Best Practices
-
When consulting a print shop for your school or department's print needs, it's important to follow these best practices to ensure the process is smooth and effective:
1. Define Your Needs Clearly
- List All Required Materials: Make a detailed list of all the materials you need, such as brochures, posters, banners, flyers, newsletters, or other items. Contact the RCSS Communications Department if you have any questions or specialty design requests.
- Specify Quantities: Clearly outline the quantities needed for each item to get accurate quotes.
- Determine Design Requirements: Decide if the print shop will handle the design, or if you’ll provide your own artwork. If they’re designing, provide them with your school's branding guidelines (e.g., logo, colors, fonts).
2. Clarify Turnaround Time
- Understand the timelines for production and delivery to ensure they meet your deadlines. If possible, submit requests for your school or department at least one week before your deadline.
3. Plan for Delivery and Storage
- Coordinate Delivery: Make sure the print shop can deliver to your location or arrange for pickup. Confirm if there are any delivery fees.
- Discuss Storage: If you are ordering in bulk but can’t store everything at once, inquire if the print shop offers storage solutions.
