The Richmond County Social Studies Department is committed to the successful implementation of the comprehensive Rigorous Curriculum and Knowledge Through Grade 12 (RCK12) Curriculum. Our goal is to provide our students with a quality education that allows them to compete in a global society with interactions that includes the integration of innovative teaching practices that enhance inquiry, allow students to think creatively, reflect on the past to connect to the present in order to solve recurring and future problems, and to increase students' fundamental understanding of their role as citizens in the community, state, nation, and world. Constitution Day and Citizenship Day
September 17th
The purpose of Constitution Day and Citizenship Day is to commemorate the formation and signing on September 17, 1787, of the Constitution and recognize all who, by coming of age or by naturalization, have become citizens.
