     Volunteer Clearance Process

All individuals, not RCSS employees wishing to volunteer in the Richmond County School System must complete a criminal history background check if you would like to be a Level 2 or Level 3 Volunteer.

Contact must be made with the school's Family / Parent Facilitator or the Designee for specific details, but the process for Volunteer prospects consists of the following steps:

    1. Complete the Mandated Reporter Training Class instructions and follow the step-by-step guide to participate in this free training before you are able to attend an In-Person Volunteer Training Class. The Mandated Reporter Training Class is mandatory for volunteers by the State of Georgia.

If you have difficulties logging in to the Mandated Reporter Training, click here for the email address and phone number for technical assistance.

    2. After you have completed the Mandated Reporter please contact the school where you wish to Volunteer, and speak with the Parent Facilitator or the Volunteer Designee to see if there is a scheduled RCSS Volunteer Training Class you must attend to move forward in the Volunteer process.

    3. View the Volunteer Guidelines to the left to determine which level you would like to apply for, Level 2 or Level 3All of the documents you will need will be provided at the school where you would like to volunteer during the RCSS Volunteer Training Class.
