Welcome to WGES Student Council!
Inspiring Leadership for a Better School and Community!
Implement Active Ledership for 3rd – 5th Grade Students
"The overall goal of the student council is to represent each grade and the students as a whole and provide leadership for the student body. One of the most important duties of a student council member is to serve as an example for members of the student body. Wilkinson Gardens Student Council officers and members are required to be in good standing in their classes and they must strive to avoid behavioral issues."
- It's getting close to that time of year again, where we will be voting on this year's members of the student council. Please stay tuned for details as to when and how.
- After new members have been voted on, the general meeting date will be the third Wednesday of each month at 2:30-3:00 p.m. in the school cafeteria. Exceptions as mandated by activities and school wide calendar.
- G.E.S Student Council take great pride in participating in community service projects. In fact we host three annual service projects: a canned food drive (Golden Harvest Food Bank), MLK toiletry drive (United Way) and the Kratha street clean-up day (W.G.E.S) which directly assist our school and the community. While it is up to council members to identify the area (s) where they can be of the most help and service to the community, we must note that our service calendar is incomplete at this time since we just completed the election process. However, there are a few projects that the advisors have in mind which include the Salvation Army and an area nursing home. As we begin to meet and further devise our activity schedule, additional information with be forthcoming! In short, we are excited and welcome all new council officers and members!
