I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to Jamestown Elementary. My name is Cynthia Reynolds and I am looking forward to many exciting and challenging academic adventures with your child this year. Listed below is some information that will make your child's school year successful.
I will be teaching the standards and skills your child will need to master to be successful in third grade. We will be using the Benchmark and Fundamentals of Phonics programs for ELA. These programs will help develop phonics, phonological awareness, comprehension, high frrequency words, vocabulary, and writing skills. Our Math Series is EnVision Math. This math series offers home to school practice and review. Therefore, you will have many opportunities to assist your child with reinforcing skills that are being taught in the classroom. The Social Studies curriculum will be using My State, Georgia and Georgia Studies Weekly. We will be learning about various cultures, geography, economics, and government. Our Science standards are taught through primarily hands on experiences and require full participation of each student. There are several assessments that we use to ensure that these skills are being mastered. These assessments include a program called iReady which tests the mastery level attained in Reading and Math.
A good parent-teacher relationship is necessary for maximum school success. You may contact me via phone, email, or written notes. The school number is (706)796-4760 and my email is email@example.com. There will also be several opportunities for parent conferences throughout the year.
