I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to Jamestown Elementary. My name is Cynthia Reynolds and I am looking forward to many exciting and challenging academic adventures with your child this year. Listed below is some information that will make your child's school year successful.
Secon grade is departmentalized. Therefore, your child will be rotating between two classes. I will be teaching Math and Science skills that they will need to be successful in second grade. Our Math Series is EnVision Math. This math series offers home to school practice and review. Therefore, you will have many opportunities to assist your child with reinforcing skills that are being taught in the classroom. Our Science standards are taught through primarily hands on experiences and require full participation of each student. There are several assessments that we use to ensure that these skills are being mastered. These assessments include a program called iReady which tests the mastery level attained in Reading and Math.
A good parent-teacher relationship is necessary for maximum school success. You may contact me via phone, email, or written notes. The school number is (706)796-4760 and my email is email@example.com. There will also be opportunities for parents to assist with classroom activities and fieldtrips. Parents who would like to volunteer must receive Parent Volunteer training. Check the school calendar for upcoming training dates.
*Please discuss homework and conduct with your child each night. Your child's conduct can be viewed on ClassDojo. If you are not signed up for ClassDojo, please contact me.
