My name is Niesha C. Carthen. I have been an educator at Hephzibah Elementary School for the past eighteen years. My first four years were spent teaching first grade. During the 2011 - 2012 school year, I moved to second grade, where I taught until the 2015 - 2016 school year.  During the 2016-2017 school year, I was the EIP augmented teacher here at Hephzibah Elementary. During the 2017 - 2018 school year, I was the Fourth grade Math and Science Teacher. At the start of the 2018 school year, I began the year teaching all content areas in Fourth Grade.  In October of 2018, I became the Instructional Specialist.  I received my Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education in 2007 from Augusta State University. I also hold a Masters Degree in General Education and Curriculum, along with a Reading Endorsement from Georgia Regents University. I completed my Master's Degree in May of 2013.  I completed my Specialist Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Augusta University in 2019. I was named the Teacher of the Year for the 2015 - 2016 school year. I am currently not married and I do not have any children.  However, I have two beautiful nieces and two adorable nephews. Education is my love and passion, and I look forward to continuing my effort to educate young people at Hephzibah Elementary School this 2023 -2024, school year.
