Hello students and families,
My name is Mrs. Willingham, and I am proud to be your child’s Gifted Education teacher this school year. I’m thrilled to step into this role and work with some of the brightest, most creative minds on campus! I truly believe that learning should be inspiring, challenging, and meaningful, and I can’t wait to help our gifted students grow and thrive.
I’ve had the privilege of teaching for several years in both general and specialized education settings. My background includes teaching 2nd, 4th, and 5th grades, as well as leading instruction in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math. These experiences have given me a strong foundation for encouraging creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving, all essential in a gifted classroom.
I have a deep love for both teaching and learning. My educational journey includes:
-
A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Waldorf University
-
A Master of Business Administration with a focus on Human Resource Management from Columbia Southern University
-
A Master of Arts in Teaching from Augusta University
-
An Educational Specialist Degree (Ed.S.) in Education, also from Augusta University
In our gifted program, students will be encouraged to ask big questions, explore new ideas, take risks in learning, and push the boundaries of their thinking. We’ll dive into creative projects, work collaboratively, and learn how to use our unique strengths to make a difference.
Outside the classroom, I enjoy reading, spending time with family, and eating out. I hope to pass on my love of lifelong learning to every student I work with.
I’m truly looking forward to an amazing year together. If you ever need anything or just want to connect, don’t hesitate to reach out. Let’s make this a fantastic school year!
Warm regards,
Mrs. Willingham
