• Welcome to the Bulldog Summer Reading Bonanza!!!!

Summer reading starts early this year! Hooray! I can't wait to dig into all those books I've been wanting to read! Even though the school media center and the public library are currently closed, there are plenty of ways to read this summer, and they are all free! Just use the links in the left column to access online books, games, videos, audios, activities, and databases.

If you don't have a device or Internet connection, don't worry--there are still plenty of ways to read. Many of you still have library books checked out. Read them! Read them again! Read your brother's books, read your sister's books, read a newspaper, read a cereal box! Get in touch with me and I will do my best to get a book to you.

Books can also be purchased on the cheap at Goodwill, Dollar Tree, and garage sales. I once bought 50 books for $6.00 at the Goodwill on Peach Orchard Road. No kidding!

I plan to write a summer reading blogpost weekly, so if you do have a device, be sure to read that!

Also, be sure to play Summer Reading Bingo (see the link at the left), keep a summer reading log (another link on the left), and send me a shelfie! I'll post it here so everyone can see what you are reading! What's a shelfie? It's a selfie of you with the book you are reading. (If you are shy, you can put the book in front of your face, but I'd rather see the book next to your face). You can send me as many selfies as you want--one for every book you read, but be sure you read all those books.

How to get in touch with me if you need a book or if you want to send a shelfie: send an email to husidwh@boe.richmond.k12.ga.us
