• Everyone has curiosity.  That is how so many great things were invented. Curiosity drives our brilliant students' minds to soar to greatness.

Ms. Tammie W. Hooks   So, here is a little about me.

I have lived in the area since 1974 and attended school here as well. I graduated from high school in the late 1980's from George P. Butler High School. I attended Augusta State University after high school and later in life. I received a Bachelor of Science in Special Education in 2002.  I have taught Special Education students in Burke and Richmond Counties.  I have worked with students in an inclusion classroom, pull-out, and self-contained settings.  I have also held the position of Department Chairperson as well.  My certification in Special Education is for P-5th and I also have a certification for middle school.  A few years ago, I obtained my ESOL endorsement.  I also hold a General Education Certification for P-5th grade as well.  This school term (2021-2022) is my 20th year.  I have worked at Waynesboro Primary School, Burke County Middle School, Goshen Elementary School, and Deer Chase Elementary School.  I am excited to be a part of the Hephzibah Elementary School staff this year.

I will be available for conferences by appointment.  Once we get our schedules set, I will post my "office hours."
