• Good evening Wildcats!

I hope that you have had a restful and wonderful Thanksgiving break. I just wanted to thank each of our families again for an amazing Boosterthon event. It warmed my heart to see so many families joining us. Our school is truly blessed with the best students, parents, and teachers!  To those celebrating the first night of Hanukkah tonght, we wish you a wonderful holiday season. Here are your updates for the week ahead:

    1) Set those alarm clocks tonight and make sure that your students arrive to school on time tomorrow. Homeroom starts promptly at 8:15! Also make sure that you find your car line sign and have it ready to display tomorrow afternoon.

    2) Tonight take a moment to make sure that your student has a mask and water bottle ready for tomorrow. It is a good idea to put an extra mask in the bookbag so that they have a back up during the day.

    3) Parents have you had the chance to complete the Power Up course in preparation for our 1:1 rollout? If not, the link to the course can be found on the C.T. Walker website. We are excited about our rollout but need each parent, especially of students in grades 3-8, to complete the course ahead of our December 6th roll out.

    4) Students in grades 3-8 will be bringing home their Power Up Permission forms on Tuesday, November 30th. Students who return their permission forms by Friday, Dec 3rd will be issued their technology on Monday, Dec 6th during school hours.

    5) Want to learn more about our Power Up Initiative? Attend our virtual parent meeting on Thursday, Dec 1st at 6:00PM. We will discuss the PowerUP process and answer parent questions. The link to the meeting will be posted to the website and to your child's CANVAS accounts on Wednesday.

    6) Parents of students in grades 4-8. Our guidance department will be sending home a letter to parents this week about "The Five Safety Rules for Physical and Cyber Safety" course. Please be looking out for the letter.

    7) As the weather changes from hot to chilly and back to warm, it is very important that you label your child's jackets and hats with their names.

    8) Do you know of families that should consider Walker? Please encourage them to apply. The link to the application is found on our website or at rcboe.org. Help us grow our Wildcat family and spread the word about our Nationally Award Winning school.

    9) Be on the lookout for our Holiday Spirit Calendar to come home in folders on Tuesday. We will have fun with activities and spirit days from Dec 1st-Dec 17th. Wednesday kicks off our Spirit of the Holidays. Wednesday is Red and Green Day! Thursday is Walker has the spirit day with Walker spirit wear and Friday is Holiday shirt day.

We have missed our Wildcats and can't wait to see them on Monday. Remember children experiencing a fever, sore throat, coughing, or stomach issues should only return to school when they have been symptom free for 24 hrs. Have a great night and we will see you tomorrow!
