What We Will Study?
Students will be creating a concrete foundation in ratios and proportional relationships, the number system, expressions and equations, geometry, and statistics and probability, as outlined in the 6th grade Georgia Standards of Excellence. Students will have the chance to expand their skill set by participating in homework, classwork, quizzes, test, both group and individual projects, independent problem solving, and even some oral presentations.
Expectations and Goals
- Be respectful
- Come willing to learn / Come willing to try
- Protect yourself (wear your mask)
- Have a positive attitude
The goal of the class is not to see who can get the highest grade, although that is still a great goal, but more so to create an environment where students are no longer afraid to face mathematics head on. Giving the effort needed to learn from your mistakes and overcoming whatever obstacles placed in front of you is the ultimate goal I wish to help the students achieve.
