We allow our students to pick their connection classes. For 6th grade will take beginning band, those students would carry over to 7th grade intermediate band class and finally 8th grade advance band. Due to our varied student population, students who didn't take band in 6th grade would still have the opportunity of taking it in 7th or 8th. These classes will be considered mixed levels and I will do my best to get those beginner students caught up with the rest of the ensemble.,
The instrument choices are open but not limited to; Flute, Clarinet, Alto Saxophone, Tener Saxophone, Trumpet, French Horn, Trombone, Baritone, Tuba, and Various Percussion Instruments. This is a great opportunity that opens doors to college scholarships where they can perform and showcase their musicianship skills. Having your child in band helps them achieve higher in life, within the school, community, and at home. Each grade level band is under the direction of Ms. Rouse.

Instrument rentals are strongly advised! Unfortunately, W.S. Hornsby does not have instruments for rent, only for class usage. Making sure your child has their own instrument to practice with at home int their free time benefits them tremendously in class and for musical performances!
