• Dear Jaguar Students and Family,

Congratulations...you made it!  Even though we are experiencing difficult times with COVID-19, I would like for us to stay positive and optimistic. Welcome to Hornsby Middle School. I want to share a few things about myself.  I am originally from Colorado, but lived have in Georgia for the past 28 years.  I am a graduate of Butler High School where I met my high school sweetheart. We have two amazing children, one boy and one girl.

I earned my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration from Voorhees College, Go Tigers! I am a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. This is my 19th year in the Richmond County School System. I have been a Bookkeeper, Parent Facilitator, ISS Teacher, sixth grade Math Teacher and now currently REP Math Teacher. Teaching has forever been in my heart, and I am passionate about the education of our youth.

In my classroom, we will be studying math from a different lenses. We will have fun but it will be intense. Get ready to make your mark!  I hope you are as excited as I am to get this new school year started.  I am thrilled to be your teacher, and look forward to a fun and productive year together.  Be ready to bring your “A” game.  As a  student at Hornsby, you will have many expectations and responsibilities.

I believe in a safe environment.  We will work hard all year long building a classroom that encourages risk-taking, thinking, respect, trust, and a sense of ownership among all students. I believe that parents, teacher, and students must work as a team to achieve our highest potential. I value your input, and I thank you in advance for your support during this exciting school year. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me via email or telephone. If emailing, please expect a response within 24 hours. I look forward to seeing you doing some great things this year.
