Dear Jaguar Students and Family,

Congratulations...you made it!  Welcome to WS Hornsby Middle School. I want to share a few things about myself.  I am originally from Colorado, and have been living in Georgia for the past 28 years.  I am a graduate of Butler High School where I met my high school sweetheart. We have two amazing children, one boy and one girl.

I earned my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration from Voorhees College, Go Tigers and a Masters of Education in Leadership-Tier I from Augusta State University. I am a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. This is my 21st year in the Richmond County School System. I have been a Bookkeeper, Parent Facilitator, ISS Teacher, sixth grade Math Teacher and now currently REP Math Teacher. Teaching has forever been in my heart, and I am passionate about the education of our youth. 

In my classroom, we will be studying math from a different lenses. We will have fun but it will be intense. Get ready to make your mark!  I hope you are as excited as I am to get this new school year started.  I am thrilled to be your teacher, and look forward to a fun, productive year together.  Be ready to bring your “A” game.  As a student at Hornsby, you will have many expectations and responsibilities. 

I believe in a safe environment.  We will work hard all year long building a classroom that encourages risk-taking, thinking, respect, trust, and a sense of ownership among all students. I believe that parents, teachers, and students must work as a team to achieve our highest potential. I value your input, and I thank you in advance for your support during this exciting school year.
