    Welcome to the 2023/2024 chool year. My name is Mrs. Tanksley, this is my 5th year at Deer Chase Elementary. This is my 11th year teaching in Richmond County. I'm so excited about being the English Language Arts teacher to some awesome fifth graders. This year we will be working very hard to prepare the students for 6th grade. In English Language Art we will be spending a lot of time reading and comprehending various types of text. Please check your child/children's homework folder daily for homework and conduct grades. Encourage your child to spend at least 30 minutes daily on I-ready reading and math. This is a great tool to prepare them for 6th grade.
