A Little About Me
Well to start, I am a 3rd generation educator (I stand a little taller when I say that my maternal grandmother and my mother were both teachers). Therefore, this is so much more than a career for me. My mom said I would be a teacher one day and, well, she was right. My path to being an educator began at Paine College. After graduating from Paine with a degree in Psychology, I enrolled and completed my Masters of Education with Counseling Emphasis at Troy University. Soon after that, I received my Masters of Art in Teaching from Augusta State University. To further my skills and knowledge, I went back to Augusta State and earned my Specialist in Teaching and Learning.
I am estaic that this will be my 15th year of serving the parents and students of Richmond County. Throughout these 16 years, I have served as a teacher at Meadowbrook Elementary, Spirit Creek Middle School, Richmond Hill K8, and the Performance Learning Center. I was an Instructional Specialist at Murphey Middle School for 5 years and 1 as the Reading Interventionist.
Lastly, I am a mother of two incredibly gifted and talented children. They both inspire me each day to be the best educator I can be, because I want the same type of educator for them. Those two are a big part of my "WHY?"
