    I am so excited to welcome you to Spanish class this year. Learning a new language is not just vocabulary; it's about exploring new cultures, making connections and opening doors to the world around us. In our classroom we'll explore the Spanish language through speaking, listening, reading, writing, and experiencing the rich traditions of the Spanish-speaking countries.

    My goal is to create a positive, supportive and engaging environment where every student feels confident about taking risks, making mistakes and growing as a language learner. We'll have fun with games, songs, projects and activities that make language learning meaningful and enjoyable.

    I look forward to partnering with you and your families for an amazing 2025/2026 school year. Together, we will build not only language skills but also an appreciation for the beauty of cultural diversity.

Claudia Cummings


I am Claudia Cummings, a driven Spanish teacher who has been teaching for over 10 years and is extremely patient and passionate about teaching various techniques to elevate skills and interest in the language and its culture. Having experience at different levels of the Jamaican school system, as well as at the middle school level in the United States, I strive to offer a broad instructional framework and professional skills in the delivery of my Spanish lessons. I use various teaching websites and apps to assist in the planning and presentation of educational lessons. I also encourage understanding and exposure to the Spanish culture by conducting thorough studies on and presenting relevant cultural elements.
