I have been a School Counselor in Richmond County for seventenn years. The first five years were at Monte Sano Elementary and Garrett Elementary. Over the last twelve years, it as been a pleasure to get to know all of the wonderful families at C. T. Walker.
I have been committed to the Richmond County System for many years as a parent as well as a counselor. I have three grown children who all went to Richmond County Schools. They attended Forest Hills, Lake Forest Hills, Langford Middle School, C. T. Walker and Davidson Fine Arts. They all graduated from Davidson Fine Arts and graduated from Georgia Universities. My oldest son, Wright, graduated from University of Georgia with a degree in Landscape Architecture and works here at Cranston Engineering. My daughter, Molly, graduated from Georgia Southern with a degree in Art and works at Orthopedic Associates of Augusta. My youngest, Chet, graduated from Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville and lives in Oakland, California working as Data Anyalist for Cognizant. While they were at Davidson, I thoroughly enjoyed coaching the Davidson Swim and Dive Teams. I really loved seeing students learn to set goals and strive to reach them! I love music and reading as well as swimming, biking, hiking and playing the piano.
The Guidance Department at C. T. Walker is here to assist our students in setting their goals for academic, personal and career acheivements and to support them when they may need help or direction. This is accomplished through Classroom Guidance, parent meetings and workshops, individual counseling and small group guidance. We also work to put together events such as Red Ribbon Week, Career Days, Field Trips for transitions to high school for our 8th grade students as well as meetings and workshops for parents. We are also committed to having a successful Teachers as Advisors program in the school.
I am pleased that we have a licensed counselor, Kenya Lee, who has been working for Transitional Family Services. This is her fifth year at C. T. Walker and she is a true Wildcat. Please visit her page to find out more about her.
