Welcome to the 24-25 school year at Hephzibah Middle School! My name is Elaine Ward, and I will be the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) Design and Innovation Connections teacher. I have been teaching for 23 years now and am a proud mother of a 21-year-old son, Thomas, who is currently pursuing a career in Engineering. During the last 23 years, I have taught STEM, math, and science in grades 6-8 as well as 4th grade math and adult education. HMS is home to me as I not only taught here for 11 years, but I also attended school here as well. This will be my first year back, and I am thrilled to have this fantastic opportunity of teaching some of my favorite concepts and contents at this awesome school. I believe teachers must work closely with parents and students to provide a positive atmosphere of communication and consistency. I will work diligently to educate your students so that this year here at HMS will be a time of growth and success. I am confident that we are going to have a productive and successful school year. I thank you in advance for your support, and I look forward to a terrific year here at HMS!
