• Welcome to C. T. Walker's Professional School School Counseling Department!

    There are two counselors at C. T. Walker as well as a Counseling Secretary. Both counselors are here to help all students as well as support teachers and staff over all grade levels.  We are also here to address parent concerns.  You will often see us attending Response to Intervention meetings and parent conferences.  We are available Monday-Friday from 8:15 a.m.- 4:00 p.m.

    Welcome to our webpage!!  My name is Laurie Montgomery and I have been a School Counselor in Richmond County for the last 18 years years, The first 5 years at Garrett and Monte Sano Elementary and the last 13  at C. T. Walker.  I have a Bachelor of Science in Family and Consumer Sciences from University of Georgia and ran an Interior Design and Drapery Business in Savannah until my family moved to Augusta.  In Augusta, I graduated from Augusta Universidy with a Masters in Education with an emphasis in School Counseling.  While Ms. Lee and I work with all grade levels, I concentrate on grades 4-8.  My husband and I have three children who are now 30, 30 and 25. They all attended Richmond County Public Schools; Forest Hills, Lake Forest Hills, Langford Middle School, C. T. Walker and Davidson Fine Arts.  All of my children have graduated from Georgia colleges, one from UGA, Georgia Southern and Georgia College in Milledgeville.   Other roles in the school are Teachers as Advisors and the C. T. Walker Student Leadership team which includes Student Council, Safety Patrol, and a new program called Peer Mediators.  My personal nterests are reading, swimming, biking, walking, and music.

    Ms. Lee has been assigned grades K-3 and is also the Title I representative.  Before coming to C.T. Walker, Ms. Kenya Lee obtained a B.S. in Psychology from Georgia Southern University and her Masters in Education with an Emphasis in Counseling from Augusta State University.  She is Nationally Board Certified and has her Associate License in counseling.  This is her 6th year as a Walker Wildcat.  Ms. Lee loves to travel, read and spend time with her family.

    Mrs. Melody Smith, Guidance Secretary, was herself a Walker Wildcat and has one child who attended Walker and graduated from Westside.  She currently has one child in fifith grade here at C. T. Walker and one child at Davidson Fine Arts as a ninth grader.  She is in Room 10 and can assist you with records and transcripts.
