Mrs. Volante McGee Henderson
Meet The Teacher
Hello, I am Mrs. Volante Henderson and I have a new role this year. While I am still a part of the Fantastic Fourth grade Dream Team as the Grade Level Chairperson, I am honored and excited to be the new EIP Augmented Teacher for our 4th and 5th grade students.
The EIP or Early Intervention Program is designed to provide interventions for students who are at risk of not reaching or maintaining their academic grade level based on their performance on state or national assessments or performance measures in ELA/Reading, Math or both in order to help them meet grade-level expectations within the shortest possible time.
I've been a teacher here at A. Dorothy Hains Magnet school since 2019. My teaching experience consists of teaching collegiate level studies, ESOL and more than 20 years of Human Resources training and instruction. I began my undergraduate education at Lincoln University in PA and completed my degree in Criminal Justice from Phoenix University. I also hold a Masters of Arts degree in Management and Leadership. When I'm not devoting my time to your children, I also serve as an Adjunct Instructor for SNHU since 2018.
I look forward to collaborating with anyone invested in our students' academic success (parents, guardians, communities and other educators). My platform continues to be that of equipping student to display excellent manners and conduct. Together we can equip our young people with good character, citizenship principles, social emotional awareness and great self-esteem. My main teaching philosophy is that you can learn something new every day!
I am also excited to be one of the co-chairs of our Student Council and Beta Club, which will see it's return this shool-year. I'm also delighted to work with some fabulous administrators and teachers for our our STEM and PBIS initiatives.
Don't hesitate to contact me for additional information and resources to aid your child at home.
Here's to the best year ever.
