    Meet the Teacher

    karen

My name is Karen Jacobs, and I am the Lead Special Education Teacher at Hains Elementary School. This marks my fifth year in this role, and I have thoroughly enjoyed being a part of the Hains community. I look forward to continuing this journey with your child(ren) during the 2024-2025 school year.

I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Management from Voorhees College in Denmark, South Carolina, in May 2007. Following that, I earned a Master's in School Guidance Counseling from Cambridge College in Boston, Massachusetts, in May 2009. In May 2016, I completed a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Troy University in Augusta, Georgia. Additionally, I have finished the Alternative Pathway - Special Education Program at the University of Phoenix in Phoenix, Arizona.

I have a deep passion for the grades I teach and cherish the opportunities for exploration, learning, and enjoyment that we share in the classroom. I am also dedicated to fostering a classroom community where every student feels loved and valued. The relationships I build with my students and their families are invaluable to me, and I believe they form the foundation for a successful year.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending quality moments with my family and friends, particularly my daughter Ashlyn, my grandchildren Trinity, Ivy, and my nieces Jasmine, Jynecia, and Kanaya; they bring immense joy to my life.
