Degrees and Certifications:

Ms. Heather Staniszewski

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Heather Staniszewski. I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, Reading, Literature, and Art from Olivet College in 1995, followed by a Master's in Education in Instruction from Augusta University in 2024. I have been employed by the Richmond County Board of Education for thirty years as a Visual Arts Teacher. I have received several honors, including Murphey Middle Teacher of the Year in 1998, Sego Middle School Teacher of the Year in 2008, and T.W. Josey Teacher of the Year in both 2016 and 2021. Additionally, I was named Richmond County Schools' Art Teacher of the Year in 2022. I am very excited to teach AP 2D Design, AP Drawing, and Visual Arts I, II, III, and IV. I look forward to getting to know all of you as we embark on many new artistic adventures and face some challenges together. To make this year a success, teamwork, hard work, and cooperation will be essential for everyone. As your teacher, my goal is to help you become a confident artist and student. I will be available for after-school help on Wednesdays from 2:15 PM to 3:30 PM. A fun fact about me is that I have a pet frog who is 35 years old.
