    Who can attend Freedom Park School?

    All students in grades Kindergarten through 8th grade with parents serving in the military who reside in Fort Gordon housing. Students residing in Richmond County, but off post, may apply and are chosen by a lottery system. 

     

    How do I register for GA Pre-Kindergarten Program?

    GA Pre-K at FPS currently has a waiting list. Other GA Pre-K sites may have vacancies. Contact the Title One Department at 706 826 1000 for information.

     

    Do the students wear uniforms?

    No, students in the Richmond County School System are not required to wear uniforms.  However, there is a dress code policy.  Please read the link on our homepage to see the RCSS Dress Code Policy.

    What is needed for registration?

    Transfers from GA schools not in Richmond County:

     

    • Withdrawal papers from other Georgia school
    • The latest copy of student's report card
    • Social Security Card
    • Completed Eye, Ear, and Dental form*
    • Completed Immunization form*
    • Certified Birth Certificate
    • Proof of Ft. Gordon residency

    Transferring from another Richmond County School:

     

    • Most current report card from the previous school
    • Withdrawal paper from the previous school
    • Proof of Ft. Gordon residency
    • Middle school students must show proof of MMR immunization

     

     

    Out of state transfers:

    • Withdrawal paper from the previous school
    • The latest copy of student's report card
    • Social Security Card
    • Certified copy of a birth certificate
    • Proof of Ft. Gordon residency
    • Immunization information transferred to Georgia form**
    • Eye, Ear, and Dental form**

    ** The Eye, Ear, Dental and Immunization forms may be obtained from the Health Department-Downtown Augusta or Eisenhower Medical Center-Fort Gordon.

     

     

    Enrolling in School

    Georgia law requires that children must be five years old on or before September 1 to enroll in kindergarten and six years old on or before September 1 to enroll in first grade in the public schools.  A child who has lived in another state for at least two years before moving to Georgia and who was legally enrolled in a public kindergarten or first grade in that state may enroll in a Georgia public school kindergarten or first grade, provided the child will be five for kindergarten and six for first grade by December 31.  Pre-kindergarten programs are available for preschoolers at 30 elementary schools and 3 community centers. To qualify for Pre-K, children must be four (4) years old by September 1.

      

    How do I volunteer?

    All volunteers must have Richmond County School System clearance to serve in  any volunteer capacity in schools.  Volunteer training will be held at the school periodically.

    Sports programs available?

    Yes, for 6th-8th grade students only.  We offer basketball, cheerleading, and track and field.
