8/12 HW: Write a compare/contrast paragraph on a real person you consider to be a hero and a fictional hero. For instance, you could compare and contrast Barack Obama to a fictional character like King T'Challa.
8/16: Write a narrative on a topic of your choice. Make sure you incoporate characters, setting, dialogue, and imagery. Needs to be at least one page. Be creative.

Create a character sketch for Creon and Antigone
Create individual plot diagrams for Antigone. Cite the major characters and give a brief bio for each, give the setting, and main conflict for the exposition. Identify 3 events that happen in the rising action and explain how they each lead to the climax. Identify the climax and explain why it is the climax. Identify two major events of the falling action and explain how it is leading to a tragic ending. Explain the catastrophe of the story and what lessons (themes) can be learned from the final outcome; identify the tragic hero and EXPLAIN how their tragic flaw lead to their downfall, as well as the downfall of others. CITE ALL EVIDENCE FROM TEXT!
Students will create a one scene play in which Creon is put on trial for defying the gods. Characters to include are Creon, Tieresias, Choragos, and any other still living character. Students can create a fourth character if they like.
Script must have an exposition, rising action, climax, falling action, and denouement. Must have dialogue, stage directions, at least 1 monologue, and at least 1 soliloquy. Performances must include masks, memorized lines, emotive dialogue, and purposeful movement. Students will perform play starting next Wed, 10/7.
