Career Cluster/Pathways

Georgia’s Career Clusters allow high school students to explore their interests through 17 distinct clusters. By enrolling in classes specific to their chosen cluster, students are better prepared for success, regardless of their post-graduation plans. Each cluster offers various career pathways, helping students understand the real-world applications of their studies. Whether they aim to attend a two-year college, a four-year university, or enter the workforce directly, students start exploring potential careers as early as elementary and middle school, setting them up to select the right pathway by high school. This initiative follows the National Career Cluster Model.

Credentials of Value/EOPA

Georgia, following the lead of other career and technical education programs nationwide, has recently focused on developing a system to measure technical skill attainment for career pathway completers. This initiative is in response to the Perkins V Legislation, particularly Core Indicator 2S1, which mandates the implementation of a reliable assessment model aligned with industry standards.

To meet the Perkins IV Legislation requirements and help Georgia students graduate with valuable credentials, the state’s technical skill attainment framework will include several assessment components:

• Industry certifications and credentials
• Occupational assessments
• State licensures and state-developed assessments
