I am excited about returning to RCTCM for my 11th year.

I graduated from Tuskegee University with a Bachelor's in Social Work (BSW).  I worked at the Department of Family and Children Services for 14 years, where I worked with abused and neglected children.  I enjoyed being able to help children that needed a voice.  After so many years, my work took me out of the field and no longer working directly with children.  This is what I enjoyed most, so I decided to find something that could allow me to still teach, and work with children again.  This is when I decided that teaching/education would be ideal.  I went back to school and earned my Masters in Secondary Education. It has best decision I could have made for my career.  I LOVE teaching!

My first teaching job was at Ursula Collins K - 8 School where I taught middle school English and Social Studies for 6 years.  This was an awesome experience that helped me to grow and develop a further passion for teaching.  After Ursula Collins closed, I was blessed to have the opportunity to teach at the Richmond County Technical Career Magnet School.  I have been teaching ELA since the 2014-2015 school year. I am also the yearbook advisor and ELA Department Chair.

I am married to an awesome man.  We have three daughters; ages 30, 29, and 24. We have one son, age 22. He attends Georgia College and State University on a basketball/academic scholarship.  We also have five grandchildren; ages 10, 9, 2 & a set of 4 year old twins.  I am very proud of my children. Family is extremely important to me, which means that each and every student at RCTCM is extremely important to me....you are a part of my family.

My hobbies include sports, reading, traveling, and going to the movies.
