Mrs. LaTisha T. Fields

Hello,

I am excited about participating in the Cyber Academy of Excellence at Richmond County Technical Magnet School. I am glad you have chosen to become a Cybersecurity Professional. I am looking forward to a momentous year. I teach Computer Science Principles, AP Computer Science Principles, and Game Design and Simulations. I am also the SkillsUSA Advisor, empowering students to become skilled professionals, career-ready leaders, and responsible community members.

I look forward to teaching you how to master information technology concepts and preparing you to become a cybersecurity, computer science, and/or game design professional.

Mission: To provide students, staff, and parents with learning experiences to promote world-class thinkers by implementing effective STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education, which ensures students are well-equipped to meet the challenges in a world that does not yet exist.

Education: I graduated from Lucy C. Laney High School in Richmond County. After graduation, I attended Fort Valley State University. Then, I transferred and received my bachelor's degree in computer science and mathematics from the University of South Carolina. I later received a master's degree from Troy State University in Instructional Technology and a Specialist Degree from Cambridge College in Educational Leadership.

Work History: I began my educational career teaching mathematics in grades 6th - 12th. I have been in CTAE (Career, Technical, Agricultural, and Education) for the past five years. In CTAE, I taught elementary students Computer Science, followed by Networking at the high school level. I have taught Computer Science Principles and Game Design in the past two years. I have served as the department chairperson in the Math department and the Cyber department, on the Leadership Committee, on Advisory Committees and textbook Adoption Committees, on the Curriculum Writing Committee for the CTAE Department, and the Math Department. I have also assisted in planning and conducting professional development for the district and planned and managed field trips. I attended local and state Mathematics and Career Technology and Agricultural conferences, conventions, and workshops.

Hobbies: I love to work on computers, travel, figure out complicated problems, and help others.

Together, we will have an AWESOME YEAR!
