Mrs. Gina Ann Canuel

Welcome to the Speech-Language Pathology Page!

My name is Gina Canuel "Mrs. Gina", and I am the online telehealth therapist delivering speech and/or language intervention at Pine Hill Middle this year.  I am delighted to be back for my second year of online teaching and look forward to my students making great gains in communication.  I have a sweet spot for PH as it was my school when I lived in Richmond County.

Let me share a little about myself.  I have a Bachelor's and a Master's in Speech-Language Pathology, as well as an ED.S. in Curriculum and Instruction (when I was 55!).  I have been an SLP since 1988, which puts me at year 38 in the field. I hold a k-12 Teaching Certificate (T-6), and am licensed in the State of Georgia.  I am a lifetime American Speech-Language Association Member and enjoy teaching and guiding young SLPs on their way to excellence.  I have a variety of professional interests, including behavior management, Autism, Learning Disorders, and Assistive Technology.  I retired in 2024, but couldn't stay away, so now I try to keep my services part time.

On a personal note, I have been married to my husband for 36 years. We have 4 children and 2 grandchildren, but hoping for more soon!

I am always open to talking to you about your students and any concerns or praises you have.  Building a connection between school and home life is essential to maximizing outcomes.  Feel free to reach out to me at my email address anytime and I will be sure to get back ASAP.
