Greetings and Welcome!

My name is Mrs. LaCheryl Badgett, I teach 8th grade English/Language Arts (ELA), and I am excited to begin another wonderful year of teaching and learning with you. This year marks my 11th year in education. I began my journey as an elementary school paraprofessional, where I spent two years supporting students and developing my love for helping children grow. For the past eight years, I have had the joy of serving as a middle school ELA teacher, and I can truly say that teaching is my passion and my calling.

I am incredibly passionate about education, I believe in being firm and structured, and making decisions that uphold both accountability and compassion. I hold high expectations of my students because I believe in their ability to RISE to the occasion. Above all, I want each student to grow—not just academically, but as individuals—and to leave my classroom better, stronger, and more confident than when they first entered.

I am looking forward to a year filled with growth, learning, and success. Together, we will build a classroom community where students feel challenged, supported, and inspired to achieve their very best. Let's have a LEGENDARY school year! Next stop, Panthers on TOP!
