Welcome to Hephzibah High
Home of the Rebels
Welcome to Hephzibah High School 2023-2024 school year.
The HHS Adapted Curriculum class values diversity and inclusion and is committed to a climate of mutual respect and full participation of all students. My goal is to create a learning environment that is useable, equitable, inclusive and welcoming.
The purpose and mission of this class is to prepare the students for life after high school. I will create lessons and activities that will allow each student to work on Individualized Goals and Objectives while providing access to adapted materials from the regular education curriculum. Basic academic skills, self-help skills, social skills, survival necessities and vocational issued are emphasized. Self-esteem along with the ability of all individuals to contribute to our society is another major focus. Every day, we work hard to increase each student’s independence.
The main objective for the class is to integrate grade level standards into functional skills. Emphasis will be placed on successful completion of the Georgia Alternative Assessment (GAA). Grade appropriate activities for all subjects will be used. Extra help is available everyday through one-on-one help from a teacher or paraprofessional until a concept is mastered. Work completion is greatly encouraged.
FACIAL MASKS ARE OPTIONAL at the current time!

I am a wife, mother, and grandmother. I have been teaching 8 years. At the age of 38 I decided to return back to school to finish my education and get a degree in Special Education. It was one of the best decisions of my life. I earned my Bachelors Degree in Special Education and am certified in Mathematics, ELA, Science, Social Studies, Adaptive Curriculum, and am Consultative for GenEd. I absolutely love what I do and adore all my students.
Most of my students consider me their "school mama" because i care deeply for the success of each of them. They also know I expect only their best and they know they will, in return, only get my absolute best in teaching them. I look forward to a great year with my students.
