Parent and Community Relations Plan
-
The purpose of this plan is to establish a systematic approach to engage parents and community stakeholders as active partners in teaching, learning, and school improvement. The plan promotes transparency, builds trust, and aligns community resources to support the academic and social-emotional growth of students.
-
1. Increased Parent Engagement (By June 2026): Parent participation in academic events, family nights, and school committees will increase by at least 25% by the end of the 2025–2026 school year. This progress will be tracked through event sign-ins, volunteer logs, and annual family engagement surveys. Interim reviews will occur in March 2026 and May 2026 to assess participation trends and identify additional engagement opportunities.
2. Growth in Community Partnerships (By June 2026):The school will establish and maintain at least five new community partnerships with local businesses, faith-based organizations, and civic groups to support the IB Programme, student internships, and cultural initiatives. Initial partnership meetings will be completed by March 2026, with formal partnership agreements secured by May 2026. Progress will be reviewed semiannually to evaluate the depth and effectiveness of collaboration.
3. Enhanced Communication Effectiveness (By May 2026):At least 80% of families will report improved access to school information through consistent communication tools such as newsletters, text alerts, and social media. The communication plan will launch in January 2026, and family surveys will be distributed in May 2026 to measure reach and satisfaction. Adjustments will be made based on feedback to ensure inclusivity and accessibility for all families.
4. Improved Student Outcomes (Ongoing, Reviewed Quarterly): Academic data — including student attendance, assignment completion rates, and performance benchmarks; will all be reviewed quarterly beginning November 2025. Improvements, particularly among at-risk students and IB students, will be used to measure the relationship between engagement and achievement. The goal is to demonstrate measurable academic gains by May 2026, supported by increased collaboration between teachers, parents, and community mentors.
5. Cultural and Global Awareness (Spring 2026):The Spring Cultural Appreciation Fair will serve as a signature event to celebrate global diversity and align with the IB Programme’s mission of fostering international mindedness. Success will be measured through participation levels, cultural representation, and post-event surveys from students, families, and community members. Planning will begin in February 2026, with the event held in April 2026 and evaluated immediately after through feedback collection.
6. Sustained IB Participation and Support (By December 2026): Enrollment and retention in the IB Programme will increase by 10% by the end of the 2026 academic year. Parent engagement initiatives, such as IB information sessions and student showcases, will begin in May 2026, ensuring families have a clear understanding of program expectations and benefits. Data will be collected and analyzed each semester to monitor enrollment trends and student persistence.
This data collection is scheduled to be logged into a calendar and software to ensure accuracy of details while preventing lack of proper planning.
