    Courses I teach:

    • Piano (Keyboard) Levels 1 - 6
    • AP Music Theory

I received my Bachelors of Music in piano performance from Eastern Washington University. The following year was spent studying at the Victoria Conservatory of Music in Victoria, BC with an emphasis on piano performance and piano pedagogy. While working on my Masters of Music degree in Piano Pedagogy at the University of Michigan I served as a Teaching Assistant in group piano for non-music majors and assisted in setting up the Piano Pedagogy Laboratory Program. I have been blessed to serve on the music faculty at Davidson Fine Arts School since 2000.

I teach seven levels of piano. Beginning I is for students who have never taken lessons before, or for those who have played for two years or less. Level 2 is a continuation of Level 1, and the students develop more advanced skills. Students in levels 3 - 6 perform in a recital at the end of the year. Level 2 students who are chosen by Mr. Hennesy and I will perform in either the recital or the Fine Arts Festival. AP Music Theory is a college-level class for advanced musicians.

I also co-sponsor the Tri-M Music Honor Society with Dr. Tomlin. This is for students in 10th through 12th grade who have been nominated by the teacher of their primary music area.
