Welcome, my name is Genevieve Williams and I teach American Government/Georgia Studies. I was born and grew up here in Augusta Georgia. I have had the pleasure of learning many historical details about my community through the oral stories from my parents and grandparents. Augusta has a very rich and vivid history, I look forward to sharing it with you this year. In 1997, I earned my Bachelor’s of Science in Education degree in Middle Grade Education from Augusta State University. I later attended Troy University and received my Master’s degree in Counseling and Psychology. I have also earned a Specialist Degree in Education from Lesley University and I am certified to teach Middle Grade Science, Language Arts and Social Studies and High School Political Science in the state of Georgia. I began my teaching career as a seventh grade math teacher with Louisville Middle School in Jefferson County. After three years of mathematics I transferred to Richmond County where I taught sixth grade Language Arts at Murphey Middle School and implemented the state's America's Choice Reading Ramp-up curriculum. I joined the Davidson Family in 2004 as a seventh grade Life Science teacher and the following year, I began teaching Georgia Studies. I love teaching middle school and history has peaked my interest since highschool.
