    Read Cask of the Amontialldo.  Find at least 3 themes.  Explain if you agree or disagree with them.  Complete questions 1-2 on pg. 91.

     

    Create individual plot diagrams using the template for "The Cask of Amontiado". Cite the character, setting, and main conflict for the exposition.  Identify 2 events that happen in the rising action and explain how they each lead to the climax Explain what type of conflict is used in the rising action.  Identify the climax and explain why it is the climax.  Identify one event of the falling action and explain how it is leading to either a happy or an unhappy ending.  Explain the final resolution of the story and what lesson can be learned from the final outcome.     Credit recovery option: Write a narrative showing how Sticky's life is 5 years from now. What is he doing with his life? Is he successful? Not? Is he still with An-Thu? Include at least one flashback, dialogue, and imagery. Make sure you have seperate paragraphs. As this is a credit recovery option, I am going to disregard papers that do not meet basic requirements of English. Must be at least two pages.

    Technology Paper Examples

    Grade each of the exemplar papers using the rubric to mark the paper for each category on the rubric:  Topic and Organization, Evidence and Development, and Language and Conventions.  Once all four have been graded, answer the following questions:

    1.  Which paper is the best and why?

    2. What did the Distinguished paper do better than the Proficient Paper?

    3.What suggestions for improvement would you give to the person that wrote the worst paper?  Give specific suggestions based on the rubric.

    HW:  Imagine you are a teen in the 80s/early 90s.  There are no smartphones and internet is very limited.  What do you do for fun?  How does it differ from what you do currently?  Explain your answer.
