    Making the Pieces Fit

I am so excited to welcome you to Westside High School for the 2018-2019 school year.   We have Patriot Pride, which means that we strive to be the best school in Richmond County.

This year we will implement our first ever Advanced Placement Academy which means that students from other RCSS schools were given the opportunity to apply for enrollment to Westside for AP classes.  We are so proud of this upcoming status for our school; we have also partnered with the National Math and Science Institute (NMSI) to support our AP Math, Science and ELA classes.

The district completed a rightsizing process in the spring which resulted in rezoning some students from ARC to Westside.  We are also excited to welcome them to Westside and promise to make them feel accepted and valued.

With these changes, we have many new students in the building, but we cannot forget about the awesome students who are returning.  This will be a year of learning new faces, adapting to changes in buildings and teachers, and learning the routines that go with each school.  I sincerely hope that parents will stay involved and engaged throughout the year.  You may contact any teacher through email or call the school to leave a message.  Our theme this year is “Making the Pieces Fit”. You and your child are important pieces of the fabric and success we enjoy at Westside.

Again, welcome to Westside and Patriot Nation.
