WELCOME TO WESTSIDE HIGH SCHOOL BAND & CHORUS!!

My name is Brandi (Sullivan) Colón. This is my 18th year of teaching, and my 7th year at Westside!  Prior to Westside, I taught 2 years at Treutlen County High School/Middle School, followed by 9 years at Tutt Middle School.  I graduated from Winder-Barrow High School in 1999 and received my Bachelors in Music Education from Georgia Southern University in 2006.  I received my Masters in Science with a focus on Teacher Leadership in the Classroom in 2014 from Walden University.  I have two wonderful identical twin daughters. To me, music is therapy.  I teach music so that I can show others how to use music as a way to be happy and cope with the many struggles in life.  It is my goal to teach students how to read, write and perform music at an appropriate level.  I also believe that music is a discipline. Participating in band & chorus requires you to learn how to balance life, school and afterschool activities. I think it helps them get ready for college and/or the work force. I look forward to working with everyone this year. It's a great year to be a patriot.
