What is this class about?
Literature & Composition II builds on what you learned in Lit & Comp I. In this course, you’ll take your reading, writing, and thinking skills to the next level. You’ll dive deeper into analyzing texts, writing with purpose, using grammar and vocabulary effectively, and understanding how authors use language to communicate ideas.

Why is this important?
This class helps prepare you for future English classes and gives you the tools you’ll need for college, careers, and real-world communication. Starting with the 2025–26 school year, this course is required for graduation in Georgia.

What will you do in class?

• Read and analyze different types of texts (stories, articles, speeches, etc.)
• Write in a variety of styles for different audiences and purposes
• Learn how to use grammar, vocabulary, and writing techniques effectively
• Explore how authors use language to inform, persuade, and entertain
• Build your understanding of how authors use language to express ideas.
