Dr. D. Hutson

The ARC Family and I welcome you to what we view as a new and exciting 2024-2025 school year! I am excited about entering my second year at ARC High School as one of the mathematics teachers. I am a proud graduate of South Carolina State University and the University of South Carolina, where I obtained my various degrees from my BS in Mathematics Education to my Doctorate in Educational Leadership. I hold a clearly renewable professional teacher certification in mathematics in grades 6-12 and Educational Leadership in Georgia and South Carolina. I will continue to utilize my vast years of experience and dedicated passion to provide the best educational services to my students.

My educational philosophy aligns with my belief that all people are valued and that all students can learn with the support of the adults in their lives. I believe it is important to build relationships with my students through consistency and fairness. I will require students to be respectful to me and to each other as I will model the same behavior for each of them. It is equally as important to communicate with my students and their parents/guardians to make certain that each student is given his/her greatest opportunity to learn and to be successful.
