    Monday 11/4

    Learning target: I am learning how to make inferences

    Success Criteria: I can use a chart to cite evidence that reveals important facts about an event and person and connotative words.

    Students will read aloud in class. We will stop to learn how to think about what we read and what is important. Students will do a pair share to highlight information in their books. Then the teacher will show them how to use the first two columns of their charts: what I read and what I already know (prior knowledge). We will continue reading while students highlight. At the end of class, students will have time to fill in their charts.

    Learning target: I am learning how to make inferences

    Success Criteria: I can use a chart to cite evidence that reveals important facts about an event and person and connotative words and make inferences about that information. 

    Teacher will use chart information from the previous day to do a think aloud and show students how to use the  information to make inferences. 

    Students will read in pairs to highlight facts and connotative words. Teacher will monitor and guide students. As students are reading, or when they complete reading, they will put their evidence into their charts and complete the "what I already know column" and the inference column. These charts will be used for the following day to make inferences.

    Learning target: I am learning about dramatic plot elements and conflict development

    Success Criteria: I can annotate Hamlet for dramatic plot events and conflict development. I can explain the relationshp between the two. 

    We are reading as a class today. We will begin with Act III, 

    Tuesday 11/5

    Learning target: I am learning about dramatic plot and conflict development

    Success Criteria: I can create a one-pager for Act II and III that demonstrates my knowledge of major dramatic plot events and character conflict.

    Students will complete a one-pager (formative assessment) over Acts II and III. They will adhere to a rubric that was given to them for the first one-pager. They will have exemplars around the room. They will be able to use their annotations from our reading to complete this one-pager. If students do not finish in class, they may turn it in by Friday (beginning of class). If they choose to do this, all additional work time will have to be done outside of class.

    Monday: I am learning about intercultural ethics and business

    Success Criteria: I can identify ethical business approaches and analyze intercultural relations in business related scenarios. 

    Activator/mini lesson: Imagine you are the CEO of a clothing company. You have the chance to reduce production cost by outsourcing manufacturing to another country. This could drastically increase your revenue. Do you make the move to outsource? What might you consider before choosing. 

    Students will read an article by forbes regarding ethical business practices and scenarios of breaches in ethics. They will answer a reading sheet that asks them to identify business-related ethics and breaches.
