ARC Football

The 1970 ARC football team was heavy with seniors who had been through 2 seasons without making the playoffs, and a group of underclassmen who had a hunger for winning. With a new energy brought on by new head coach Coley Cassedy after Fred McManus left to be athletic director in Habersham County, the team came out strong with victories over South Carolina rivals Aiken and North Augusta. Victories in non-region play over first-year Westside and Aquinas set the stage for the newly revamped 4-AAA schedule. With only 4 teams in the region, each team played the other members twice.
