Herman Lam

Dr. Herman Lam graduated from ARC in 1967. He played football and basketball and ran track during his time at ARC. After graduation, Dr. Lam attended Georgia Tech; he played wide receiver on the Tech football team and ran track. In 1972, he earned his B.S. with distinction in Electrical Engineering.   In 1974, he earned an M.E. in Electrical Engineering at the University of Florida. In 1979, Dr. Lam earned his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering with Computer Engineering as his major area of study.

 

From 2012 to the present, Dr. Lam has served as Director of the Computer Engineering Undergraduate Program in the College of Engineering at the University of Florida and as Center Associate Director: NSF Center for High Performance Reconfigurable.

 

Dr. Lam is the co-author of the book, Fundamentals of Computer Engineering. He has written 39 publications in professional journals reviewed by engineering experts for comment, evaluation, and approval. Dr. Lam has conducted over one hundred conference and workshop presentations. In addition, he is a prolific grants writer.

 

Despite all of his success, he remains a humble man.
