WHAT IS (ALL COUNTY) FESTIVAL?

  • instruments

Every year, the Richmond County School System sponsors the All-County Band, Jazz Band, Chorus, and, Orchestra Festivals.  These festivals are designed first as an opportunity for RCSS teachers to observe best practices from some of the finest educators in the field.  The second component of the festival is to honor our highest achieving students and give them a unique performance opportunity.

The All-County Band students are chosen by audition.  You will see information to the right regarding dates, audition information and student expectations.  Auditions for the All-County Events are open to all active music students at RCSS public schools.  The All-County groups are select in that the music is challenging and there is not much rehearsal time.  The rehearsals are demanding and sometimes, the students only work with the Guest conductor for a short period of time before the actual performance.

The All-County Festival is a major performance festival hosted each year in the areas of band, chorus and orchestra.
