Junior Achievement Discovery Center of the CSRA Welcomes RCSS
On the morning of Thursday, January 11, 6th grade students from Belair K-8 School boarded charter buses at their school and headed to the Junior Achievement (JA) Discovery Center of the CSRA eager to participate in JA Biz Town to put their weeks of learning and preparation to the test.
Buses arrived one after another to unload students who were greeted by Richmond County School System and JA staff as they entered the building and walked the pathway leading to the auditorium. Once inside a replica of the Miller Theater, students shared in a pep rally style overview of what their day at JA Biz Town would include answering questions about money and how to spend it. At the conclusion of the overview, a countdown took place and at 1 the doors opened to reveal the storefronts sponsored by local organizations and businesses.
