PHASE II - ESPLOST
In 2002, the Richmond County community vote approved a second ESPLOST. Phase II of the Richmond County Board of Education ongoing Building Program was completed in 2007 and consisted of 59 total projects including the following: two hundred forty-nine (249) new classrooms, three (3) New Elementary Schools - Deer Chase Elementary School, Diamond Lakes Elementary School (both in South Richmond), and Replacement for Hornsby Elementary School, one (1) New A.R. Johnson Science Technology High School, three (3) New Stadiums / Athletic Complexes (Westside High School, Glenn Hills High School and Laney High School) and several Expansion and Renovation projects.
