PHASE V - ESPLOST

  • Phase V ESPLOST passed in 2016 when the community supported a fifth Program with significant voter support.   The program consisted of fifteen (15) expansion and renovation projects, two (2) replacement schools, and one (1) new PK-8 school for a total of eighteen (18) projects.

     

    Additionally, over $25 million was budgeted to provide Technology, Textbooks, Vehicles, and Buses for our students.   

     

    As a result of additional collections during Phase V, savings from the Phase V Program, and investments from these dollars, further projects were able to be completed as a part of Phase V beyond the original planned scope.  Additional projects/scope included the following:

     

    • Was able to increase Pay-As-You-Go from $25 million to $30 million

    •  Academy of Richmond County High School –Added an additional eighteen (18) classrooms

    •  New K-8 Replacement School – Was able to add an additional ten (10) classrooms.

    •  New Belair K-8 School – Was able to add an additional ten (10) classrooms.

    •  Was able to add four (4) Turf Fields

    • Hephzibah High School—Performance Gymnasium and Specialty Performance Theater.*

    • A.R. Johnson Magnet School - Six (6) classroom addition (Grades 6 - 8) and additional parking for the Auditorium.
