    We’re Glad You’ve Chosen RCSS to Continue Your Child’s Education!

     

    The Richmond County School System announces its spring Kindergarten Round-Up and Registration dates from March 22–April 1, 2021. During this time, your child will have the opportunity to meet school staff, register for the 2021-2022 school year, and participate in a fun 10-15 minute learning activity that will help us plan for their fall arrival.

     

    Below you will find information to support you as you begin the registration process.

     

    The Kindergarten Round-Up is a Two-Step Process:

    1. Register new students using our online registration portal, Registration Central or contact your child's zoned school directly.
    2. Contact your child's zoned school or visit the school's webpage for more registration details.

     

    Only students that are new to the Richmond County School System (did not attend Pre-K in Richmond County Schools) need to be registered through our Registration Central link. 

     

    Who should attend? 

    Any children that will be 5 years old on or before September 1, 2021 are eligible for kindergarten during the 2021-2022 school year. 

     

    What documentation is needed to register my child?

    Parent/Legal Guardian Photo ID, Proof of Residency, Student Proof of Age, Immunization Certificate (Form 3231), Certificate of Vision, Hearning, Dental, and Nutrition (Form 3300), Social Security Card for Student (Waivers may be provided)

     

    What if my child already attends the Richmond County Pre-K Program? 

    Children currently enrolled in our Pre-K program are NOT required to attend the Kindergarten Round-Up.

     

    What if my child is currently attending a Pre-K class that is not in our zoned school? 

    If your child is currently attending a Pre-K class outside of your zoned school, you will need to contact your child’s zoned school for guidance on how to move the registration to the new school; it is not necessary for you to go in-person to make this change.

     

    How do I determine my child’s zoned school?

    To determine your child’s zoned school, please click our School Zone Locator . Once on this page, key in your address, and the elementary school assigned to your address will appear. 

     

    What happens if I miss the Round-Up/Registration deadline?

    If you are unable to attend, please reach out to your child's zoned school for more information. You can also access our Registration Central page for more information about registering your child.
