Deer Chase Chosen to Lead State’s First Arts-Infused STEAM Pilot!!!
Posted by:Deer Chase Elementary School was selected as the only school in Georgia to pilot an arts-infused STEAM curriculum through the nationally recognized ArtsNow program.
The school was chosen for its commitment to innovative instruction and arts integration. The new initiative, developed in partnership with organizations like Young Audiences Arts for Learning, blends subjects like drama, music, and dance into core curricula to deepen student engagement and creativity in the classroom.
What they’re saying: “As I learned more about it and got an opportunity to implement those ArtsNow strategies in my classroom, I found that it really was powerful with bringing the classroom to life.”

Augusta National Golf Club and the TGR Foundation-TGR Learning Lab to deliver STEAM education!!!
Posted by:(AUGUSTA, GEORGIA) – Augusta will be home to one of only four nationally recognized science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM) education centers, thanks to a new partnership between Augusta National Golf Club and the TGR Foundation, founded by Tiger Woods. Officials announced plans for the TGR Learning Lab, which will be located at the former site of Lamar Elementary School, during a press conference Monday.
“This partnership represents an incredible opportunity for our students and our entire community," said Dr. Malinda Cobb, interim superintendent of schools. "The TGR Learning Lab will bring free, high-quality, hands-on STEAM experiences right to our students' doorstep. We are proud to see our vision for our ‘Full STEAM Ahead’ initiative recognized and uplifted on a national stage, and we are deeply grateful for our continued collaboration with Augusta National and the TGR Foundation to make this a reality."
As part of the broader initiative announced this week by Augusta National and the TGR Foundation, the TGR Learning Lab will serve all Richmond County School System students and teachers, and an estimated 20,000 additional students from neighboring schools within a 10-mile radius. While the facility is expected to open in fall 2028, in-school curriculum, programs and community events in Richmond County will launch prior to the opening.
“The TGR Learning Lab is a game-changer for Richmond County,” said Shawnda Stovall, president of the Richmond County Board of Education. “It will enhance the learning experiences already happening in our classrooms and provide students with real-world skills that prepare them for success in the 21st-century workforce.”
The school system will integrate lab-based learning experiences and project-based STEAM curriculum into its “Full STEAM Ahead” initiative. The initiative is designed to expand access to high-quality STEAM instruction, inspire students to explore innovative, real-world solutions, and encourage stronger performance in math, science, and other core subjects.
More information about the partnership and the full scope of the project is available at tgrfoundation.org.
