With 25 years of nursing experience and 5 years as a school nurse, her adaptability and teamwork certainly make her a valuable asset to the Richmond County school community. September School Nurse of the Month
Congratulations to Nurse Emily Adams for being recognized as School Nurse of the Month for September! Her dedication to school nursing, extensive experience, and role as a district CPR instructor highlight her commitment to the health and well-being of students. It’s wonderful to see her efforts in seeking efficiency in her work, which undoubtedly benefits the school community. Richmond County is fortunate to have her on the team!

Each year, Richmond County recognizes our Nurse of the Year. May 7th, 2024 was National School Nurse Appreciation Day and RCSS celebrated all of its school nurses in accordance to that day.
On School Nurse Day 2024,
Tamara Dent
was named
RCSS School Nurse of the Year.
Nurse Dent serves the students at Warren Road Elementary School. She has been a nurse at WRES for 4 years. She has a Master's degree in nursing with over 20 years of experience. Nurse Dent appeared on the cover of the Summer 2023 edition of the National Association of School Nurses Magazine, showing her school spirit. She always goes above and beyond what is expected of her. In addition to being selected as the RCSS School Nurse of the Year, she was also selected as the October Nurse of the Month.

It's back-to-schol time! Have you updated your child's health information? All students (new and returning) should have up-to-date medical/health information on file at school.
In accordance with Georgia Department of Education policies for enrollment and to ensure the best care for your throughout the school year, all medical forms should be given to schools at the time of registration. This includes:

Vision, Hearing, Dental & Nutrition Screening Forms *

Certificate of Immunization (or medical or religious exemption form)*

Health Card
-
Medication Authorization Form
-
Health Care Plans (allegy, diabetes, seizure, asthma, etc.)
* = required for enrollment
All health information required for enrollment must be on a GA form (not a form from a different state/country.) If you need to have out-of-state forms converted, contact the local health department at (706)667-4329. Blank copies several of the needed forms are available below.

New Option for Scoliosis Screenings (6/2021) - 6th & 8th Grade Students
Parents, A scoliosis screening is required for all students in the 6th and 8th grades who attend public school in Georgia. There are 3 options to complete this requirement.
1)Students can have their screening completed at their physician's office.
2) Students can participate in the school screening event conducted by the school nurse.
3)The parent can opt out of this screening all together by indicating that option on the 4400 form.
